The photo was selected due to a picnic seeming to be the best place for some peace, but this picnic was at the Shiloh National Battlefield Site. Nothing like having a picnic while cannons are pointed at you, cannons that have not been used for over 100 years, by now over 150 years.

This quiz is about “peace.”  We have had quizzes about faith, hope, and love.  Why not add peace?  I had 249 verses from which to choose.

The questions are in biblical order and most are from the Old Testament.

I wrote this while babysitting.  Maybe the lack of peace (and quiet) was part of my motivation, but then again, I am back home and I probably have more peace and quiet than I can stand.

Peace and quiet are wonderful things to have, but once we have them we desire company.  As soon as we get company, we desire the peace and quiet that only seems to come when the company leaves.

A friend of mine who had four sons said that the second best thing in the world is when one of his sons comes home to visit, but the best thing in the world is when he leaves again.  That sounds terrible, but then again, most of us understand the sentiments.

God’s peace is different than peace and quiet.  God’s peace comes when we are full, not empty.  To get peace and quiet, the company that has made the noise must leave.  But to have God’s Peace, we must be filled with God.

That way, we have both peace and companionship together, that perfect union that lasts an eternity.
