This quiz was inspired by an error. In Jeremiah 33, I was thinking that God told Jeremiah, and through him the people of Judah, that as long as God maintained His covenant with the sun and moon, He would keep a king from David’s line. I was in error. The covenant was with day and night. Oops! But enjoy the quiz anyway.
This is a quiz about verses containing both the words “sun” and “moon.”
The questions are in biblical order. And most questions are from the Old Testament.

I had one thought for a quiz that I decided was better done in the summer – just whimsical, since the previous two quizzes like it were in the summer. That gave me a big hole. I previously mentioned God’s covenant with Day and Night, from Jeremiah 33, but as I sat in the recliner, praying for some idea, I heard two songs in succession. These were both romance songs, since I had the television tuned to Singers and Swing, and it was in a four-hour block of “singers.”
The first was Mel Torme singing No Moon at All. The song is about how the great romantics talk about love in the moonlight, but this was the perfect night for romance – no moon at all. So, what do “they” know anyway.
The next song, immediately after that one about the moon, was sung by Diana Krall, Midnight Sun. So, when I was thinking about the covenant with day and night and then heard songs about moon and sun, I hope you can forgive my error.
By the way, although not Christian songs, I have these two renditions below.

Peter quoted Joel regarding the sun being darkened and the moon being darkened. But this phenomenon is also prophesied in Isaiah 13:10, Isaiah 34:4, Ezekiel 32:7, Zephaniah 1:15, Revelation 6:12-13, and Revelation 8:12. The references in Revelation meaning this phenomenon will happen again.
While the astrological event mentioned in Peter’s Pentecost sermon was mentioned in Joel 2:31, with the darkening of both in Joel 2:10, the darkening of sun and moon during the day Jesus was crucified could not have been considered an accident, especially to the religious leaders. Too many prophets mentioned it. Of course, the Apostle John had not yet written the Revelation.
