I hope all these quizzes are responsible, but you put them out there and you trust that they will behave. But this quiz is about verses containing the word “responsible” with 43 mentions in the NIV. I could add responsibility and that would increase the total to 54.
The questions are in biblical order. The last two questions are from the New Testament.

The Bible tells the history of the Chosen People like no history book ever written. The USA had a tendency, at least in the past, of letting some of their warts show. You know, things they did not do well or at least could have done a whole lot better.
But the Bible has the story of Lot’s daughters having sex with their drunken father and Tamar sleeping with her father-in-law, both of those stories for the express purpose of getting pregnant. We have Noah getting drunk and getting naked. But when the Levite (Judges 19) went to a Benjamite city and the people wanted to have gay sex with him, and then the Levite sacrifices his concubine (not his wife, who she should have been) and the mob rapes her until morning and she dies on the stoop of the building where the Levite stayed safe… And then the Levite carves her into eleven pieces to let the other tribes know how depraved the Benjamites had become.
The end of the story is that one tribe worked out a plan so that the last young men of Benjamin would “kidnap” virgin brides of their tribe so that there would not be an ethnic cleansing.
In a way, the tribe, many generations later was still being the protection for the tribe of Benjamin, as it mentions in question 3. They were still being responsible for their younger brother and his offspring.
In tying the two stories together, this could be a hint.

I heard one time that one spouse was upset with their in-laws. This one spouse complained that these in-laws had raised a very responsible young adult. In fact, this spouse was determined to beat that attribute out of their spouse.
Has the world gotten that upside down that we want to be late for appointments? Do we want to skip paying the rent once a year or so? Do we want to have to go out to dinner because the other spouse forgot to cook anything for supper or forgot to go to the grocery store?
There is Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, but being responsible is something short of that. You get the necessary things done and you do not obsess over them, because they are done.
But to think that irresponsible behavior and the general attitude of that type of slothfulness is now a virtue? My house is a mess, but I recognize that and I am slowly getting it slightly less messy. But I always value being responsible.
