For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
- Psalm 91:11-12
As for me, I will be vindicated and will see your face;
when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness.
- Psalm 17:15
The Boilerplate
My wife started to write her thoughts down at one point in her life. Some hints point to 2018 and 2019, after she had her open-heart surgery. In spite of her trials and the atrial fibrillation (A-Fib) that required her to take blood thinners, this was before her major health decline.
Sometimes, she wrote a thought. Other times, she wrote a Bible verse, and maybe her idea on that day. Other times, it is a prayer, but I am going to take one entry at a time and try to write about it
Her comment
“For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.”

The Discussion
C.S. Lewis wrote in his preface to The Screwtape Letters that we either think about demons too much or we do not think about them enough, or even not at all.
I think the same could be said about angels. These verses from Psalm 91 above have been used in two contexts in my lifetime. First, Satan quoted this Scripture to tempt Jesus. Second, it has given a lot of people the idea about guardian angels.
But Jesus should always be the focus. It is through Jesus that we are never alone. It is the Holy Spirit that indwells us.
So, why do we fixate on a lesser being? Yes, my wife had a dream that her guardian angel appeared to her so that he would walk with her to Heaven.
I much prefer Psalm 17:15. As for me, I would prefer to wake up and see the face of Jesus.
This was kind of short. My wife loved the idea that she had angels around her. She had her anxieties. She suffered from PTSD. But she always knew that God was in her heart and angels were there to protect her.
Why worry, when there is so much protection around us?
Soli Deo Gloria. Only to God be the Glory
