On 14 December 2024, I had the quiz, What For Quiz.  I am doing the same thing with the preposition “into.”

This is a first-middle-last quiz using the first ten appropriate Bible verses (according to the NIV), but in a way it is a matching quiz.  In the question section, you have the first part of the verse up to the point where the word “into” is found.  In the answer section, you have the “into” preposition, followed by the rest of the verse.

This could get very risky in that if you do not get the right answers, or you are having a bad day and you want some “perverted Scripture” to cheer your day, you could get the answers wrong and have a mess on your hands.

My question to you is which person will emerge when you see the verses?  Will you be the dutiful Bible learner who tries to get the right answers?  Or will you be tempted (and God does not tempt) to throw the worst combinations of verse parts together, just for a laugh?  The choice is yours.

Really, some of these might be logically determined.  Then placing the second half with the leftover first halves can be done by reading the first half with each of the second halves to see which sounds right.

The questions all come from Genesis.  The question column shows the first part of the verse, in biblical order.  The answer column shows the second half of the verse in alphabetical order.  The first and second half of the verse might accidentally line up.

10Now the Valley of Siddim was full of tar pits, and when the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, some of the men fell into your hands.

If you do not like this type of quiz, then leave a comment.  Since I did not get any complaints the last time, I thought this would be fun.

Actually, none of the answers line up with the questions.

And while some of the combinations as written above make some sense, maybe in a humorous way, most of the combinations make no sense at all, but you may have some difficulty with a few of them.

You can look at the Bible References to see that the verses range from part of the Creation story to the story of Abraham sending 318 trained men that were born in his household to rescue Lot and others.  But the 318 men have not yet gone to the rescue.

In this time, there has been mankind being created by God, a flood to destroy the people except for Noah’s family, and Abram becoming Abraham and moving his household to the land of Canaan.  There has even been a famine.

In thinking of these contexts, some of the verses might have two or three answers that make sense, but it might not make sense in the context of the first fourteen chapters of the Bible.

In the answer column below, the Q#-A# corresponds with the number in the question column that matches the number in the answer column in the Questions and Bible Reference sections.

Whether you did well on this quiz or, ummm, not so well, for the first video, here is Citipointe Worship featuring Chardon Lewis singing Into the Deep.  I thought I would use hymns or worship songs that have either “Into” or “In” in the Title.

Here are the Asidors (Endy, Charm, and Max) filmed in a very cold and windy San Francisco, California, USA singing All in All.

Here is the Grosse Point Memorial Church (Virtual Choir), Michigan, USA singing In Christ There is no East or West.  The choir joins the organ solo about the 1:29 mark.

Here is The Hymnal Project singing In the Cross of Christ I Glory.

With the restriction of songs and hymns with “In” or “Into” in them, you would think In Christ Alone would be there.  There is no way we could get too much of a good song, but there are others.
