I picked up a variety word game magazine recently.  I am not much of a crossword puzzle guy, but I did well back when I worked the daily USA Today crossword.  I never was much for the Sunday New York Times crosswords.  Somewhere in between.

But other puzzles intrigue me.  I love the Logic puzzles.  But the other day, I stumbled over a couple of puzzles that gave a list of words, followed by words with something missing from the center of the word.  I thought this would make a great Bible verse puzzle.

I have been a little distracted lately, so I will try to make this simple.

In Part 1, you will find ten words in alphabetical order with something missing in the middle.

In Part 2, you will find ten words in alphabetical order.  These words are what is missing in the middle of the words in Part 1.  This makes this a fairly straightforward matching quiz.  Match the list in Part 1 with the list in Part 2.

In Part 3, you will find five Bible verses that should be rather familiar.  They are listed in biblical order.  These Bible verses will have two blanks.  These blanks are filled with two of the words that you created by melding the words in Part 1 and Part 2 together.  This is the sanity check to make sure you created the right words.

In the Bible Reference section, the book, chapter, and verse are given for the five Bible verses.

I am not using the table feature this week.

Part 1

AC__ING, A___HER, C___ED, C___E, E___H, H___NS, RE___ING, S___K, S___L, TRANS___ED

Part 2

ALL, ART, CORD, EAVE, FORM, HANG, NEW, NOT, PEA, TEA

Part 3

In the beginning God created the ___ and the ___.

“‘Do not ___. Do not lie. Do not deceive one ___.

God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should ___ his mind. Does he ___ and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been ___ ___ to his purpose.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be ___ by the ___ of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Note: The fourth verse has two consecutive missing words.

I enjoy word games, most of the time.  There are a few of them that I just cannot wrap my head around them.  My wife exclusively did word searches.  I hope this word game was enjoyable, and not that hard.  But I will admit, when I typed everything in, it looked scary.  The words in Part 2 may make more than one word when melded with the words in Part 1, but that is where the Bible verses come in.

Bible References:
