About a month ago, the quiz topic was about the word “thinking,” but you have to have a “mind” to think.
As I looked for verses, I was amused by the phrases associated with “mind.” This is a matching quiz. From the rest of the Bible verse, hopefully you can figure out what the author “had in” mind. “Bear in” mind that I might “change my” mind. But some people think I am “out of my” mind.
The concept is simple. Match the appropriate expression to properly complete the verse.
These questions are in biblical order, half in each testament. The words to complete each verse are in alphabetical order.

I have had people who have said to me, “Are you out of your mind?”
Back then, I took it as an insult, and it was probably meant that way.
Then again, I have purposefully said inane things to lighten the mood. They might have asked the question, but they were laughing at the time.
I think our minds do not always make good decisions when we are stressed out. We often take the decision that is easy to accomplish at the moment. But we may have just put a bandage in the wrong place and the bandage might need to be removed later. But if we bought ourselves time, was it the wrong choice?
When I worked Facilities Management, that was often the case, putting a bandage on the severe problem to buy more time until the proper solution is available.
We make those decisions with our minds. But how does the mind become distinguished from the brain or the soul?

I ended the last discussion with what are the distinguishing traits between: brain, mind, and soul? The soul lives forever. The brain is a physical thing. When alive, it might house the mind, but it is still a brain after the body passes away.
You can take the brain from a cadaver and weigh it. Does the brain weigh more when you have learned more? In a search of that question, it seems that while learning, the brain’s weight and volume may increase, but then they normalize once that skill is mastered. So, knowledge and memories are part of the brain, but the mind accesses them.
The mind has a consciousness. There are some animals, not all, that have a certain sentience. A dog is aware that it is in pain. There is value within the dog to address that pain. But other animals just keep going regardless. Yet, most of what a dog does is from instinct.
The human has a soul. We have a sense of right and wrong. We have an advanced sentience, where we not only are aware of our existence, we are aware that we have a sense of awareness.
What will we carry with us to the next life? I think that is the big question and the reason why many of us ponder the difference between brain, mind, and soul.

Here is Danny Gokey singing Slow Down. As I mentioned above, we may not make the best decisions when we are stressed out.
