But what can I say?
He has spoken to me, and he himself has done this.
I will walk humbly all my years
because of this anguish of my soul.
Lord, by such things people live;
and my spirit finds life in them too.
You restored me to health
and let me live.
Surely it was for my benefit
that I suffered such anguish.
In your love you kept me
from the pit of destruction;
you have put all my sins
behind your back.
For the grave cannot praise you,
death cannot sing your praise;
those who go down to the pit
cannot hope for your faithfulness.
The living, the living—they praise you,
as I am doing today;
parents tell their children
about your faithfulness.
The Lord will save me,
and we will sing with stringed instruments
all the days of our lives
in the temple of the Lord.
- Isaiah 38:15-20
As Hezekiah praised God in Isaiah 38 when he was given good health, so do we. Our younger son is back home after a week in the hospital. His medication is now balanced to help with all psychological and neurological issues. He had a great deal of good news after leaving the hospital. One of the most important things was shared by his wife.
She had gone to a different church last Sunday at her parent’s request. She met a woman whose husband was suffering from PTSD. This woman told our son’s wife that Satan was worried about our son and had to attack with everything in his arsenal. She felt this was a sign that great things will come from this, and that God had great plans for our son.
Was this a prophecy? We must believe that it is, if not for our son, for one of his children, brought up in a strong Christian home.
In the meantime, certain limits have been met with our son’s insurance and medical expenses, including his therapy, will be covered in full for the rest of the year. I know, not much left in the year, but the therapy was quite expensive.
So, our son is back home. He has more therapy, but everything right now is positive. We are praying that he returns to work soon, and he is working toward that.
And as for the praising of God with stringed instruments from the Scripture above, the featured photo for this post is of our son’s youngest son, our youngest grandchild. At the time, he was four, and he had to show us that he could play Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star on the ukulele. Definitely he is his father’s son, but they are all musical. Move over, Arthur Godfrey, there’s a new ukulele master in town!
Soli Deo Gloria. Only to God be the Glory.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
