With what shall I come before the Lord
and bow down before the exalted God?
Shall I come before him with burnt offerings,
with calves a year old?
Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams,
with ten thousand rivers of olive oil?
Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression,
the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
- Micah 6:6-8
“I pray for you serenity, for fights and wars start in individual breasts and that is where they must end.”
- Brian Morgan, The Legend of the Christmas Prayer
Last weekend, I did some short posts on prayers found in the quoted Brian Morgan book. The “serenity” prayer is for the fourth day of Christmas, but do we not need serenity each day of the year?
I turned on my computer and I was bombarded with articles on the impeachment. Each time I see pictures of Pelosi and her posse, I feel the opposite of serenity. The latest photo is of her ceremonial pens. It is odd that someone in favor of gun control, for us troglodytes, signs a venomous article of impeachment with pens shaped like ammunition used in assault weapons. Makes you go ‘Hmmmm.’ But I do not wish to feel that way about any human being. I suppose she is human. On the other hand, there seems to be no place on earth to escape the evil. Odd, in Pelosi’s demented mind (allegedly), she probably thinks that she is fighting evil, but without a full understanding of God and the Bible, can you really discern what is evil and what is not? I am not saying that Pelosi does not understand such things, but when you support removal of God from our government, do you really understand anything? And if we impeach one president, we can impeach the next. They might even put Jesus on trial… No, we already did that about 2,000 years ago. Not saying Trump is a nice guy, definitely not in the same breath with Jesus, but will anyone be safe? Will anarchy reign, as if it doesn’t already?
Then I see articles about the fires in Australia and about how Democrats in the USA and others throughout the world are blaming the fires on global warming, censoring all comments about how Australia has brush fires on a periodic basis and this time its just a bit worse than the last. No, you (the voices of reason) must be silenced. This is global warming alone and you are a troglodyte. As a profound troglodyte, might I say that dry is dry, and a five degree increase in air temperature does not make things drier, once its dry, and with a flame temperature in the thousands of degrees, a five-degree increase in air temperature is negligible. But I am sure that the false narrative will help to pour money into global warming mania.
And then I see articles about how the USA is not doing enough for Puerto Rico, again. This time due to the earthquakes.
My question is why so many earthquakes at this time? Why so many Australian brush fires now? When King Hezekiah prayed, he was given fifteen more years. Are the “fifteen” years expired for our world? For the USA, will the combination of hundreds of false narratives sway the voters to surrender their freedom and accept national oblivion in a socialist state?
We have no serenity because the evil behind the false narrative pushes fear and hopelessness down our throats. But to obtain serenity, we simply tune out the world’s false message and trust in God.
Micah’s words reign supreme. To obtain serenity, we, as individuals, must follow these principles. “To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
Soli Deo Gloria. Only to God be the Glory.
