My wife went into the hospital on Thursday but has returned home.
After a few misdiagnoses, she was “simply” dehydrated. I put quotes there in that she could not see, could not walk, could not stand without assistance, etc. As far as the missed diagnoses is concerned. She did not have a stroke and she does not have C-Diff.
She had only been taking dialysis treatments for a week. The hospital started a new medicine that she needs to take the day before each dialysis session, thinking she had a reaction to it. The dehydration came from the perfect storm of a digestive problem, the dialysis, the weather, the kidney-friendly diet, and taking a water pill – all at the same time. When you look back on it, it seems to be a “duh” moment.
But the hospital also pointed out a few other issues with her medications. I have to check her blood pressure and pulse before she takes one of her pills and if anything is too low, we skip that pill. A bit more complication, but manageable things.
All praise to God, the great healer.
Soli Deo Gloria. Only to God be the Glory.
Prayers answered/ I’ll continue to ask for God’s healing and for his strength for both of you.
