Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.
- Matthew 12:25
If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
- Mark 3:25
Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: “Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall.
- Luke 11:17
I recently heard someone argue against a political viewpoint, saying something like this.
“A house divided against itself cannot stand. Somebody said that once – mighta been a president or something.”unknown, and loosely quoted
Because he was espousing the view that the media wanted spoken, for everyone other than that viewpoint to be silenced, they left the camera running for this celebrity or athlete to totally miss the origin of his quote. The president was Abraham Lincoln, who was well-versed in Scripture and was quoting from the Bible.
I am trying to stay away from political commentary, but this video from Jonathan Cahn was suggested by a social media artificial intelligence algorithm. So, please, blame the computer. I will let Rabbi Cahn explain how someone who supposedly had an education had no idea where a famous quote originated, although he speaks of so much more that we all need to hear.
May we each repent and collectively repent as a nation, before the nation ceases to exist. May we have unity and peace with God. It is indeed the only way.
Soli Deo Gloria. Only to God be the Glory.
