What Freedom?

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
    instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
    instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
    a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.

  • Isaiah 61:1-3

“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial.  “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.  No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.

  • 1 Corinthians 10:23-24

I could have titled this as another television commercial rant, but it is something that is far worse than that.  There are several television commercials that all talk about freedom now that the “vaccine” is available: CDC and other government agencies, pharmacies, pharmaceutical companies, etc.  All these commercials have songs about freedom and freedom is the theme throughout.  Hope is a sub-theme.  All the commercials point toward a “salvation” through better pharmaceuticals.  And the music, printed words, spoken words, and images all point to a new religion, a false god that must be bowed down to.

What garbage!  What freedom?

My wife and I took our second shots over two weeks ago, as of writing this.  After dialysis yesterday, I suggested that my wife buy another garment like the one she had raved about being so comfortable the day before.  She felt good, a rarity after dialysis, so we went to, of all places, the discount department store.  On the way, we went to Cracker Barrel as it was almost lunch time (my wife now on an early morning dialysis schedule).  My wife had more than six pounds of water weight removed while on dialysis, and the effects hit her (leg cramps) when we were standing in line – much too closed for social distancing – waiting for a table.  Her legs began to cramp.  We looked around inside the shopping area and there was no place to sit down.  My wife opted to go to the restroom.  Our wait was supposed to be fifteen minutes, but after a fifteen-minute wait, sitting on the porcelain throne, we still had one person in front of us waiting for a table.  I pleaded with the person managing the seating, and she said that with COVID regulations, they could not allow anyone to sit down while waiting, and there were no available places to do so.  Not even a solitary, social-distanced chair.  We could go to our car and wait, and they might call us on our cellphone, maybe, sort of, if they remembered…  I explained that my wife had medical issues and HAD to sit down.  It took them another five minutes, but we were bumped ahead of the Hartman couple.  (I hereby apologize to them.)  The waitresses hurried in that five minutes to disinfect the table next to the entrance.  It had been sitting there with no one at the table, just not disinfected.

After we had dined, my wife felt better, so we went across the street to “Wally World” and they did not have her size, but she found a few things and the OTC medicine that I had not found at the other store from a few days prior was available at this one.  I picked up two and stood in line at the checkout.  Two checkouts for the lunch rush!!!  We were backed clear through women’s clothing into men’s clothing in both lines, but there were only two shoppers in front of me.  The first one had about one and a half carts full of purchases.  I think I counted four gallons of milk.  After everything was bagged and in the carts, the shopper pulled out a stack of coupons, without exaggeration – an inch thick.  I have 400 page novels that are not that thick.  Well before we got that far, my wife’s energy had drained.  They always have benches near the restrooms beyond the checkouts.  I suggested that my wife go there and sit until I made it through the line.  NO!!!  When we were reunited 30 minutes later (the lady between me and the mega shopper with coupons only had a half dozen items), my wife was sitting in a motorized cart at the store entrance.  They had removed the benches due to COVID.

So I again ask, what freedom?!?!?!

We do not know who has had the “vaccine” and who has not.  Since it is not a true vaccine, they still want you to wear the mask and social distance, even after everyone has gotten the shot – although many will refuse to do so.

I have seen television shows and read countless articles about how the pandemic was a planned-demic to force the world into a global government.  Get everyone accustomed to not having any freedom so that someone who promises freedom in a highly religious manner, as the television commercials make no bones about, then we will bow down to the false gods just to have the chance of removing our mask – if only for a few seconds.

I am not in agreement with the conspiracy theorists who think the COVID-19 virus was manufactured to start these gears in motion, but I will buy into the puppet master(s) who want this new world order in being astute opportunists and orchestrating many of the events that have followed.  As Rev. David Robertson, the Wee Flea, has said several times since the pandemic began, that once governments take freedom away, they will be highly reluctant in allowing the freedom to return.  Their hubris has been peaked.  They are drunk with power.  And releasing the hounds (from bondage) might allow the hounds to get sick and then they are to blame – so, no freedom (or soup) for YOU!!!

The governors in a few states that have relaxed the restrictions have been called Neanderthals.  But those governors are the only ones who are for the people.

As for my present state – of insanity – sorry, Pennsylvania (same thing), they are now moving on to the 1B group of people with 1C coming before the general public, but the internet sign-up software has been restricted to 1A only and it might take some time (weeks?, months?) to figure out how to allow the 1B people to even register to be placed on waiting lists.  Heaven forbid getting an appointment for the shot.  Obviously, someone in the state government was hoping all Pennsylvanians would die before we got that far, allegedly.  I hope that sarcastic comment is okay for print with “allegedly” added.  At this rate, they will have the vaccine for COVID-24 developed and administered to the 1A folks before the general population will get the COVID-19 shot, while many other states are giving the shots to the general public by the busload.

And even after this is all administered, we will still wear masks and social distance.  There will still be no benches for old folks to sit on, who just got out of dialysis and are cramping up.  We will never know who has had the shot and who has not.  They could ask for the shot record, but I am sure some folks have already made forgeries of those little cards – that are too big to fit in a card slot in your wallet.

No, what freedom?

The only freedom that we have is in Jesus Christ our Lord.  His freedom is everlasting, and no government can take that away.

Soli Deo Gloria.  Only to God be the Glory.

And now there’s a new kind of bullying or shaming when you aren’t wearing a mask or haven’t been vaccinated. I for one have yo get my shopping done in record time because I have such difficulty wearing a mask. The mask is actually causing more breathing issues and I usually start coughing, which leads those around me to believing I have COVID-19. I’ve had both vaccinations but I know many who haven’t and don’t intend to because they have not actually been approved. I believe everyone has the freedom to make their own choice without being looked down on.

  2. We have allowed our collective common sense to be taken by the powers that be— so despite knowing and going with our gut instincts that are 99.9% right, we now question ourselves and rely on the powers that be to tell us yes or no.

My husband and I are both vaccinated— reluctantly we ‘complied’ but does that mean freedom of any sorts?

    No!

We are both so over the masks— wearing them makes me feel sick— despite washing them.
Living in a “free” state does make things somewhat easier as less and less folks have on masks say at Home Depot or Lowe’s— but I’m to the point that I want to totally do away with it!

We went to Cracker Barrel yesterday for the first time in over a year.
We use to go almost every Sunday when we lived in Carrollton but once the pandemic hit—I knew an already long wait would now be nuts— so yesterday we opted to go to one in Athens close to our new home.

It was a 30 minute wait despite me having looked at the wait on line and it telling me it was 5 minutes.

They had actually moved tables and chairs from inside to the outside in order to socially distance the dining room.

Some patrons waiting did not wear masks but we did along with the other sheep.

I am still amazed how we wear masks into a restaurant then as soon as we’re seated, off they come— but make sure you put it back on if you get up and go to the restroom—
But at two different restaurants over the weekend, I happily noted that salt and pepper was back in the table!

    Baby steps to freedom!!!

    • All you said is true here except masks are worn everywhere and salt and pepper are things that you have to ask for. But we had a rebellion yesterday in Sunday school. One of the “hard of hearing” ladies announced, “Everyone in this room has had their second shot. I suggest the masks come off.” Everyone complied, but I said, “We might be in trouble if the church Gestapo comes in.” Everyone laughed and one lady asked if they were really Gestapo. I said that they were either Gestapo or simply Pharisees. I hadn’t made up my mind. I announced after class that we got away with our rebellion, but then one of the guys in class suggested that we might get letters due to the hidden cameras. All joking, but could it be true????
