To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’
“Cursed is the ground because of you;
through painful toil you will eat food from it
all the days of your life.
It will produce thorns and thistles for you,
and you will eat the plants of the field.
By the sweat of your brow
you will eat your food
until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken;
for dust you are
and to dust you will return.”
- Genesis 3:17-19
“Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt and prophesy against him and against all Egypt. Speak to him and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:
“‘I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt,
you great monster lying among your streams.
You say, “The Nile belongs to me;
I made it for myself.”
But I will put hooks in your jaws
and make the fish of your streams stick to your scales.
I will pull you out from among your streams,
with all the fish sticking to your scales.
I will leave you in the desert,
you and all the fish of your streams.
You will fall on the open field
and not be gathered or picked up.
I will give you as food
to the beasts of the earth and the birds of the sky.
- Ezekiel 29:2-5
“The climate summit in Glasgow is called COP26, which stands for the 26th ‘Conference of the Parties’ and represents a gathering of all the countries signed on to the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Climate Agreement.”
The featured photograph is a picture of smoke coming out a stack. I had been operating the furnace in India for about twelve hours and just before the photo was taken, a few control valves became jammed. I will admit my error, and I stayed an additional four hours working on fixing the problem, teaching the Indian operators how to be creative when the equipment does not work properly. Contrary to this, much of the Climate Change alarmists use similar videos, where what is seen is water vapor, not smoke at all, but the alarmists conveyed their falsehood without saying a word. Since they are showing it in their video, it must be bad, and the result is that you hate the industry, even when the industry is doing the right thing.
By the time this gets posted, COP26 will be nearly over, and the world can get back to its new normal until some other disaster is imagined and the politicians are fed a bright idea of how more governmental control and less freedom can solve the problem, we might soon get some peace and quiet.
No, how silly of me. The only way to have peace and quiet is to turn off the television and radio and find a way to avoid the online news feeds. The media love to terrorize.
Ah! Is that a way to rid ourselves of the demon known as “the media?” Consider them a terrorist group? I doubt it would work, because the politicians rely on the media to fix the election so that they can stay in office and find ways to make our lives harder.
But here we have world leaders from around the world promising to do something that they cannot do. They belched countless tons of carbon dioxide into the air to travel to Glasgow, many on private jets, and I am sure they will continue to belch carbon dioxide into the air travelling to every nook and cranny in their home countries trying to buy the necessary votes to carry out their plan. But their plan is greater control and less freedom. If the problem gets fixed, they lose that power over our lives. Fixing this is not their motive, in fact fixing climate change defeats them in the end. Yet, we hang on every word they say as if the politicians, who know very little past the words they are fed by others. Politicians will only make matters worse. God is our only salvation.
In the meantime, the problem is a global problem and not all the world leaders are there at COP26. While the world shuts down their industry, destroying the jobs of millions of people, and spending, as one pundit said, “more money to fix the problem than exists in the world today,” China is ramping up production of coal fired furnaces that will belch more carbon dioxide into the air than we could ever reduce by the efforts of those at COP26. The smoking stack in the photo was from India, a common sight there.
Sure, the new industries that are carbon friendly need to hire people, but fuel pumping facility personnel do not have the necessary skills to do that job. I know about that issue. I was the “Lead Engineer” – poor title for Training Manager, who guided and directed the training at a NASA site, placed in an impoverished area to infuse the economy and put those poor people to work. Problem? None of those poor people were qualified, some not literate, and the people from surrounding areas were hired instead. This will happen for the carbon neutral technologies, but on a global scale. More people out of work and starving, less products to purchase at higher prices.
While China ramps up production to supply the world with almost everything, belching more carbon dioxide into the air, the poor in the world will starve while the rich politicians will take their gas-guzzling limousines and park them in their gated communities and count their money.
I do not remember having ever mentioned “limousine” in anything I have ever written. I had to look up how to spell it. Being someone who barely scrapes by, a limousine is not on my radar.
But is the ultimate goal of COP26 really to have countless millions of poor people starve, making a more powerful impact on “Climate Change” than all the political absurdities that they have discussed?
And in the meantime, we will have less freedom, less food on the table, and less ability to do just about anything.
And we thought the politician’s response to the COVID19 pandemic was bad!
Yet did anyone in the two weeks mention that we need to repent of our sins and turn to God? I did hear a recording of the pagan priestess’ “prayer” that “Mother Earth” could be restored to health. Disgusting!
I doubt if God was ever mentioned in the sessions, unless as a curse. Each of these Pharaohs think they created their respective “Nile” and God has been eliminated from consideration. The statement starting with something like “They will know …” and ending in “… that I am the Lord.” is found 64 times in the book of Ezekiel. I doubt if the representatives at COP26 realize the meaning of that sentence. But someday, they will know that our Father in Heaven is truly the Lord, but it will probably be too late for them.
This world is broken due to sin. Man cannot fix the problem! We should be responsible in our actions, making prudent changes in our lifestyle, but this “fix” is all political grandstanding. Few politicians understand the science. Their scientists, the ones that they listen to, are “yes men” that say what the politician wants them to say – or they do not get paid. All they will do is make matters worse.
I have said it before that the measures to stop this problem have been accomplished time and time again over the past 50 years. The media claiming that we knew there was a problem and we did nothing is a lie, and carbon dioxide elimination is only the latest guess. And how many deaths is this guess worth in famine and starvation alone?
We need to go to God to repent rather than angering God with our unmitigated hubris.
Soli Deo Gloria. Only to God be the Glory.
