Hezekiah assigned the priests and Levites to divisions—each of them according to their duties as priests or Levites—to offer burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, to minister, to give thanks and to sing praises at the gates of the Lord’s dwelling.
- 2 Chronicles 31:2
With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the Lord:
“He is good;
his love toward Israel endures forever.”
And all the people gave a great shout of praise to the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.
- Ezra 3:11
“Consider this, you who forget God,
or I will tear you to pieces, with no one to rescue you:
Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me,
and to the blameless I will show my salvation.”
- Psalm 50:22-23
I am under vows to you, my God;
I will present my thank offerings to you.
For you have delivered me from death
and my feet from stumbling,
that I may walk before God
in the light of life.
- Psalm 56:12-13
This is my review of 2021.
I want to thank everyone who regularly comes to this website, but also those who do not come here that often.
This has been a busy year with this being the 565th post this year. There were the usual ten posts each week, seven daily posts, one Philosophy post, one Bible Study post, and one quiz each week. There were also 24 posts that were additions to the fictional big city of Tracy, after not writing any for the second half of 2020, the year started with an eight-part series, half from a Deviled Yeggs perspective and half from a Mashie Niblick perspective. Then there were miscellaneous other posts throughout the year.
The year 2021 was a strange year for this site. If I showed a list of the most viewed posts this year, it would be populated with a lot of 2020 posts. Of the top 10 posts, only two of them are from 2021, one from 2019 and seven from 2020. Both of the 2021 posts near the top of the viewed list were quizzes, the quizzes for the second and third mission journeys of Paul. Of the top 20 posts, half were posted in 2020 and six in 2021, with 2 from 2019, 1 from 2018, and 1 from 2017. It is amazing how so many posts from previous years more than doubled the views in 2021.
Again, thanks.
Having quizzes do so well in the long run in itself is strange. While the quizzes come out on Saturday morning, there are few people who view them on that day, but over time, people find them, one way or another.
A little over a year ago, I wrote a post about Bible book usage. I have expanded the spreadsheet a bit, tracking chapter by chapter. Since this site was started, over three-quarters of the chapters in the Bible have been quoted in blogs on this site, and two thirds of all chapters more than once. All the chapters that have not been quoted are in the Old Testament and only 42 chapters of the 394 chapters that have been quoted only once are from the New Testament. Indeed, as Paul wrote to Timothy (2 Timothy 3:16), all Scripture is God-breathed and useful in instruction, rebuking, etc.
But more importantly, I want to thank all the writers at the sites that I follow. Keep up the good work. God is good. Our efforts are not in vain.
It could be that many of you will not read this until next year, but whether this is still 2021 or 2022:
Happy New Year and may God bless you greatly this year and the next.
Soli Deo Gloria. Only to God be the Glory.
Happy 2022, Mark. Thank you for writing this blog, you are a great blessing.

And thank you. I guess I will be in the New Year a couple hours before you, but I am not staying up, so you may see it before me.
