There are a few questions where the answer is the name of an Old Testament book.  The questions are in biblical order.

This quiz was inspired by prayers, of a sort.  For the first two weekends after my wife passed away, there were tornadoes that ripped through the south, many of them being deadly.  There are many towns that may never be the same.

In one instance, I prayed as I watched the storm go around the town my son and his family were in, all huddled in the bathroom while I gave them updates on the storm’s location.  And the storm not doing as tornadoes usually do…

On each of those weekends, the following Saturday, strong winds came to our area and knocked out the power.

With that happening two weeks in a row, I thought a quiz about storms was in order.

But these storms brought an old memory to mind.  On the second date that I had with the woman who would become my bride, I dreamed up the idea of going to the beach and having a picnic.  I dug a hole in the sand and I blocked the hole with my sports car (a Datsun 260Z).  But the wind was still so strong that I could not keep the fire lit.

While I focused on the fire, and the lack there of, my future wife looked at the Gulf of Mexico.  At one point, she came around the car where I was working and she said, “I think we should forget about the fire and go back to your apartment and cook the food there.  I have seen these kinds of clouds before, and I think it may not be safe to stay here.”

I had noticed that it was getting darker, but I thought the sun was setting.  I saw the storm clouds and then gathered up the gear and loaded it into the car.

We were still ahead of the storm when we reached the intercoastal waterway, west of the oil refineries that are west of Port Arthur, Texas.  She asked me to stop on top of the bridge, since no one was following us.

We counted fourteen funnel clouds along the horizon.  The next day, the weatherman claimed that sixteen tornadoes had touched down.  I called my future wife and joked that we missed two of them.
