Happy New Year 2024!

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

  • 2 Corinthians 5:17

Yes, the photograph is four years old.  I do not have a more recent one.

I know.  There may be those of you who partied too much last night.  You may have been drinking and celebrating too much last night.  So, I will avoid using ALL CAPS!!!!!!

Sorry, I just felt I had to do that.

But did anyone say, “Out with the old, in with the new?”

Did you see an animation, or live actors, with the old man draped in a banner that said 2023, and then somehow the old man was replaced with a baby and 2024 was painted on the diaper?

Do you believe it?

A new year does not save us.  A new government or a new law within the government does not save us, not even a new leader within that government.

The new jobs that I have had on many occasions are more a case for “out of the frying pan into the fire” instead of being a step up.

But if we are in Christ, He makes us a new creation.  If you accepted Christ and nothing changed, then what happened?

Christ wants all of us.  He would love to have everyone, but He knows only some were given to Him by the Father, those that will take up their cross and follow.  But those that take up their cross do so “all in.”

And why do we take up our cross and follow?  Because the old has passed away.  Behold God makes us new.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Okay, I said it, maybe even before the tarnish started showing.

Soli Deo Gloria.  Only to God be the Glory.

Happy New Year, Mark! I’m glad the late night fireworks that so many of our neighbors set off are over. Those loud booms and bangs drive our dogs CrAzY. Hopefully we can get some sleep tonight.

Have a good new year Mark.
I got up early, watched the sky turn lavender before sunrise. Tried a new (a gift) coffee. Said “Happy New Year Jesus”, read a bit and reflected a lot. Still a bit reflective I guess.
