Last week, I had a fill in the blank quiz.  I chose various words that seemed to be good quiz words, if that is a thing.  And I noticed that six of the ten words that I selected were the last words in the verse.

So here is a quiz that is fill in the blank and every blank is the last word of that verse.  All the verses have something to do with love.  A word list is provided.  The questions are in Biblical order, with the first five from the Old Testament.  The word list is in alphabetical order.

My wife loved to engage in conversation.  She loved to talk, but she equally loved to listen.

Some people who are not big talkers need to be prodded to say something else, or the conversation dies at that point.

My wife was great at keeping others engaged.

But at least one time in my presence, she got the other person irked.

The woman muttered, “You always have to have the last word!”

My wife replied, “No, I don’t.”

The woman raised her voice, “There you are, doing it again!”

My wife playfully smiled and made the universal symbol for zipping her mouth shut.

The woman then had a bit of a rant.  My wife never said a word.  She did not have to.  She had gotten under the other person’s skin, just a little.

Finally, the woman had said so much, she had to stop to take a breath.

My wife used that opportunity to say, “And I wholeheartedly agree.”

There was silence in the room for a few seconds.  Then, the irate woman screamed in anger, while everyone in the room laughed and applauded.

My wife was gentle and kind, but don’t push her too hard.  And somehow, I think it was one of her sisters, but maybe not.

When I chose the verses for this quiz, I purposefully chose half of the verses in each testament.

In each case, I read enough of the verse to decide that it was a fairly good selection.

That got me to praying that since I had never looked at the last word in each verse, I did not want half the verses ending in the word “love.”  As it turned out, there was only one verse that ends in love.

Then I prayed that I did not get many duplicate words.  There is only one duplicate.  “God” is the last word in two of the verses.

That is good in that we need a reminder that showing love God’s way requires God in our heart.

And it is wonderful how God shows His love toward us in that He sometimes answers our prayers as we are praying them.
