What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- Romans 8:31-39
“Physicists debate the dimensions of space. For the untrained, life exists in three dimensions. Time is added as a fourth dimension; a fifth dimension is a continuous repetition of the fourth dimension in space/time. Modern physics has added a sixth dimension, and a paper presented in December 2014 suggests that in this sixth dimension alternate realities exist in parallel to the ones known – a “superstring” theory which posits that the universe exists in ten dimensions at once. Aren’t you glad that you can just raise your hands and say, “God only knows,” and consider what lengths He has gone to in order to confound these scientists!
“Regardless of whether you exist in a three, four or ten dimensional universe, you can rejoice knowing that the steadfast love of the Lord is so multi-dimensional that it exceeds the heavens. You can sing with the psalmist, or with the contemporary group Mercy Me, ‘How Great is Your Love,’ knowing that it is beyond measure.”

Is it crazy talk to consider more than four dimensions, a three-dimensional universe plus time? Just because we cannot get our head wrapped around the concept does not mean it is not so. But so many people refuse to believe in God unless He stands in front of them. If God made Himself visible to them, they’d quickly change the rules to something more concrete. There is always the chance that they might hallucinate.
I have mentioned it in many other posts that God exists outside time and space. That would be another dimension. Scientists may create extra dimensions to account for their theories not adding up to reality as it is measured, but to conceive of a God outside time and space would be utterly ridiculous to some of these scientists.
To those whom God has chosen, as the Scripture mentions, it is equally mind-blowing that this all-powerful, all-knowing God, who exists outside time and space, loves us. It is a staggering reality that God loves us. He cares for us.
Some people think that saying that God loving us and wanting a personal relationship with us is crazy talk.
But it is not. Once you commit your life to Jesus Christ, surrendering to Him, a new ‘dimension’ in understanding is given to us through the Holy Spirit. At that point, we realize to NOT talk of God loving us is crazy talk. Of course, God loves us. He sent His Son to die in our place. His Son conquered death by rising from the grave. And God gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit as our Guide, Counselor, and Advocate.
Soli Deo Gloria. Only to God be the Glory.
